Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure which is done to improve the function or appearance of an individual’s nose. Rhinoplasty is commonly referred to as a “nose job” and can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes.

Rhinoplasty procedures aren’t regarded as being painful procedures, and most people stay home for a week to recover. If external sutures are present, they’re removed approximately 4 to 5 days post surgery and the external cast is removed after a week. Any brusing usually improves after week two and swelling goes down after a few months. One can expect some settling and shifting of the nose for the first year.

Although there are some risks associated with having a rhinoplasty done, it is a procedure that is typically viewed as safe.
