I have a deviated septum and I’d like to get my nose fixed up some as well.. I haven’t been to the doctor yet but my aunt who is a nurse told me my septum is deviated and I could prob get the insurance to cover the nose job.. Do you make an appointment with the eyes, nose and throat doctor first before meeting with a surgeon?
should I get a referral from my regular doctor?
The ear nose and throat doctor will do the procedure, and I don’t know about your insurance, but my insurance considered the two procedures to be separate, and only covered the surgery for the deviated septum. The rest was plastic surgery and had to be paid by my parents.
You don’t need a referral unless your insurance company requires it, or the ENT you are going to see says you need one. Make sure you ask him if the “nose job”…I’m assuming you are talking about a rhinoplasty to remove a dorsal hump from your nose…will be covered….
